04/11/2011 Affirmations Inspired by Nature Review, by 148 Apps

iPhone App $0.99 Our Review By Chantelle Joy Duxbury on April 11th, 2011 Rating: :: JUST OK An app that focuses on providing soothing calm music while offering messages inspiration and motivation, based on the natural elements of the world. Developer: Price: $0.99 Version: 1.0 iPhone Integration Rating: User Interface Rating: Re-use / Replay Value Rating: Overall Rating: If you’re looking for a simple app with some uplifting messages and general advice set to calm music, you’ve found the right one. Affirmations Inspired by Nature offers a list of 25 daily issues and a short 1-2 minute mantra set to music to help you realize, overcome and inspire you to change your mindset on whatever issue might be plaguing you. The app only offers short audio snippets with this information. I’d hoped there would be perhaps some sort of visualization (or at least a Motivational-Poster style photograph to go along with each ‘Affirmation’). Think of this advice as a more fleshed-out version of those posters and you’ll begin to understand what the aim with this app is. Sometimes the advice actually references examples in the natural world that will help you visualize and understand the thoughts, but sometimes it’s simply encouragement. Unfortunately, it ranks so low on the iPhone Integration scale because it simply doesn’t offer some of the simple features I expected it to, like the photographs or visualizations I mentioned above. Also, it’s entirely devoid of multi-tasking capabilities. These two issues compounded means that when listening to the app you have no other option but to stare at the huge PAUSE button and nothing else. Offer one or the other, please! Finally, I’d really prefer to see some sort of Twitter or Facebook integration. I know I mention this a lot but most apps could benefit by it, and this one in particular – I think lots of people would love to share their ‘Favorites’ with friends and family – posting an Affirmation to your Facebook Wall on a particularly good or bad day might help reaffirm that this app is helping you overcome and succeed at your life goals. It’s not to be taken too seriously, though – I understand this is entirely for entertainment purposes. I think there are a select few who will really enjoy this app, and it’s for them that I’ve reviewed it and consider the price to be just fine. Also, see the Read More
