Back in May, Google acquired Global IP Solutions, the real-time voice and video over IP processing tech company, for $68.2 million. It only makes sense now that apps for its Android operating system would start deploying GIPS technology to run HD VoIP calls. Nimbuzz has done just that. With its latest version, 2.0.2, Nimbuzz is letting users make peer-to-peer VoIP calls in HD using an HD voice codec from GIPS. The app also provides a revamped profile system and interface and can run straight from an SD card so that users can save memory on their phone.
