SonicPics does something I'd been wanting an app to do for a long time: create annotated slideshows with timing you direct. The demo speaks for itself, but I have to say that, after testing, it works as advertised. There could be some UI tweaks, but the act of creating slideshows that move to the next slide as you speak and when you want them to move is as simple as it gets. First, you select the photos you want in a show, then you flip to each photo in sequence as you record your voice. The timing of each photo is done in sync to the audio, and that part is quite intuitive. Less intuitive are some of the other controls, but perhaps that's just my penchant for attractively-skinned interfaces. SonicPics has uses beyond simple photo galleries. I could see using this to walk through a UI demo, for example. The app is flexible and can export .m4v files to YouTube or transfer to your Mac using WiFi. SonicPics is a tool for creating and narrating custom photo slide shows on the iPhone or iPod touch. The update includes support for device rotation when making recordings as well as several bug fixes. SonicPics makes it easy to use images from the iPhone’s photo library or built in camera to make custom slide shows and then record a voiceover narrating the images as you swipe through them. Once you are finished, you can create an enhanced m4v video with your images synchronized to your narration, complete with chapter markers. Potremo, inoltre, registrare un commento audio da inserire nella slideshow e scattare nuove fotografie da aggiungere all’album presente direttamente dall’applicazione. L’utilizzo è abbastanza semplice: Appena avviamo l’applicazione dovremo creare un nuovo progetto e poi inserire il titolo e la descrizione. Successivamente potremo cliccare sul tasto Add, che ci permetterà di sfogliare il nostro rullino e selezionare le immagini che vogliamo. Quando saremo soddisfatti, basterà un click su “Done” ed infine dovremo regolare la qualità di registrazione video tra “Good”, “Better” e “Best” . Ognuna di queste opzioni regolerà il numero di framerate e conseguentemente anche la grandezza del filmato. Quando saremo pronti, potremo cliccare su Record e partirà la registrazione. Visualizzeremo immediatamente la prima foto e potremo lasciare un commento servendoci del microfono. Non appena avremo terminato, potremo passare alla foto successiva con un semplice swipe e così, volta dopo volta, avremo commentato tutte le immagini. As a new dad, I am always taking photos of my son at each every possible moment of the day. No big life moment can go undocumented and thankfully, my trusty iPhone is always with me to capture those events. I’ve recently discovered an app from Humble Daisy called SonicPics that is helping me to chronicle my young son’s life and make it easy to share with friends and family. SonicPics is a slideshow creator that allows you to enhance your presentation with your own narration. You simply insert pictures from your photo gallery, arrange them in the order you like and swipe through them while you narrate. By lending your own voice, you can add a very personal touch to tell any life story and it’s very easy to use. When you’re finished with your presentation, you can publish your creation to YouTube, email it to friends or transfer with local WiFi to your desktop computer. The really great thing about SonicPics is the abundant number of use cases. I’ve introduced the app to friends and have come across several ways that this app can be helpful. With the ability to record up to an entire hour of voiceovers, the uses are almost limitless. Aside from my example with my son, I’ve seen people use the app as a video log to capture memories of vacations, for professionals to create business presentations and students using it to produce visual guides to prepare for exams. SonicPics sports a very easy to use interface and many other options like variable audio quality settings and the ability to title your presentations.
