Healing Frequency 528hz

| FREE | Droid Devz
Apparently, according to people who inhabit what one might term the “alternative lifestyle” world, the 528hz frequency has some sort of weird healing effect. Which you can experience on Android, thanks to Healing Frequency 528hz. It generates a tone. You listen to it and, perhaps, get better from whatever illness ails you. Here’s a snippet from the app’s description: Some reports indicate that listening to this tone consistently reduces stress, increases overall physical healing, increases seratonin releases and increases the overall feeling of wellbeing. Could work. At the very least it might stop you furiously checking Twitter every 90 seconds, so that at least could be considered calming. And it must be true, people on the David Icke forum believe in it – plus it’s on over 10,000 downloads on the Android Market. Epic Astro Story

| FREE | Kairosoft Co.,Ltd
Another English-language Kairosoft instaclassic has launched on Android, with the prolific developer releasing Epic Astro Story. The game is a sort of space-based take on the civilisation development theme, having you develop a space colony while battling enemy aliens. Sounds a bit silly, but it’s Kairosoft. Silly is what it does. Here’s what it looks like. The same thing as ever but now in space and with aliens, basically: Epic Astro Story is a paid release, costing £2.99 to buy. If you’re new and wondering why we’re so euphoric, it’s because Kairosoft made the amazing Game Dev Story, Pocket League Story, Grand Prix Story and many more. All excellent, especially now the developer puts more effort into its Android conversions. Monopoly

| FREE | Novun
Here’s what you need for Christmas. The ultimate capitalist battle for city domination has arrived on Android, with publishing giant Electronic Arts putting a full version of Monopoly up on the Android Market over the weekend. For £2.99 you get a game that looks like it includes the original version’s London street names, too. That’s a bonus. Here it is: Android Monopoly is on the Android Market here. The comments suggest it doesn’t work on Android tablets, which is a rather huge oversight. So it’ll be a slightly anti-social Christmas. Xmas deals

| FREE | Positive Digital
Obviously this being December 13th means we’re a little late with this, but still. The Currys & PC World chain have released an Android app they call Xmas Deals, which contains a little advent calendar you can open to receive a random discount off some electrical goods every day. Today’s deal is £20 off a Sony e-reader. The app generates a barcode for you, so you can wave this at a staff member while demanding your cheaper price. And look. An interactive cracker: And it has jokes. Jokes are one of the 1,000,000 things we hate about Christmas. Bring on January. Here it is: Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk is on the Android Market here for £1.49, if you fancy a gaming challenge that’s on the harder side of the spectrum. Stick Cricket

| FREE | Stick Sports Ltd
Popular iPhone game Stick Cricket popped up on the Android Market a few days ago, giving us a chance to play its simple and stylised take on the sport. The game’s free, but, if it’s anything like the iOS version, there will be an in-app purchase to unlock additional features. And, er, having just read the announcement properly, that is indeed the case – buying the “pro pack” for £1.49 gets you more game modes. Here’s what it looks like. Wish they wouldn’t do that to the screenshots. Stick Cricket is on the Android Market here, for free. Initially. Night of the Living Dead

| $0.99 | SGN
The excellent Grave Defense has been spun-off into a new and entirely separate title, with developer Art of Bytes releasing it’s Night of the Living Dead themed tower defense update on the Android Market. Apparently “based on George Romero’s cult classic horror flick” Night of the Living Dead Defense includes quite a few tech and gameplay updates over the original Grave Defense, too. We will be having some of this later for several hours: Night of the Living Dead Defense is available of the Android Market here, for £0.63 plus whatever taxes get added on. That’s a promotional lower-than-usual price for early adopters, according to the developer. Come Fly With Me Holiday Snaps

| FREE | BBC Worldwide Limited
Abysmal BBC TV “comedy” sketch series Come Fly With me is the bizarre choice for a new addition to BBC Worldwide’s collection of Android apps, with the app offering users the chance to have their photographs inserted into scenes from the show. And that’s all it does, with the chance to share the HILARIOUS END RESULTS on Facebook and Twitter. Come on, BBC, this is nearly the year 2012. Who’s going to be the first person to get the phrase “Waste of license payers money” into the reader review comments? This abomination is on the Android Market here. Desert Bus

| $0.99 | Amateur Pixels
Insane cult gaming smash Desert Bus is now on Android, giving extremely bored or extremely ironic mobile gaming fans the chance to drive a bus across 360 miles of featureless desert. In real time. That’s all you do. It’s sort of a joke, but at least this one has a good punchline – publisher Amateur Pixels is donating the proceeds of the Android release’s £0.59 sale price to gaming charity Child’s Play. Contains two times of day. The odd history behind Desert Bus is mentioned in the app’s Android Market listing.
